1.Open Sores: all the last settings:file format,checkboxes, tools settings are wiped as soon as you exit the program you have to enter the same thing again each time. 2.Closed source: everything is saved again and restored from start. You basically start where you left off and productivity is optimal.

Obv. the Open Source solution is to create a program with 1000 cli switches and expect the users to research each switch, write a script for the task and pretend its the equivalent to JUST SAVING THE LAST SETTINGS IN PROGRAM.
