Consider the following: C bugs edition

You, your lovable wife and 3 children are out in your brand new Smart Car™ while it's currently driving in auto mode.
Suddenly the C software that powers it gets a buffer overflow and causes it to slam into a synagogue.

Would that convince anyone to trust C?
