/prog/ has always had that and it's how its memes came about, but having said that, the aforementioned shitposting didn't saturate the entire board end-to-end for all time as seems to be the case today.
Is it because dis.tinychan.org defaults to
/prog/? Is that why? It's a theory I'm putting forth. I engage in much better discussion just shooting the breeze on /lounge/ with random topics than I do here with programming.
