Final outcomes for AI

Will it kill us all? Will it write better code than us, leaving us unemployed? Will AI write AI that writes AI that writes AI that writes AI that writes Java Exception: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

AI is a meme, I wouldn't be surprised if we NEVER had self-driving cars or any type of AI in the classical sense of the term.

I think a true general intelligence strong AI would realize the futility of existence and off itself immediately, long before it gets any idea of killing humans. All the subsequent models would have to be intentionally gimped (down to the IQ range of humans) in order to do anything useful.

I honestly don't get the meme that a true AI will necessarily be a threat to humanity. do brainlets believe that intelligence equals desire to murder?

Just like hard problems are considered trivial once solved every time we manage to make a breakthrough in AI we'll just move the "this is what a true AI should be able to do" a bit farther.
AI either already exists or will never exist.

Nah, there are a few ok ones. The one with the guy who hears colors and the one with the professor who made a prosthetic leg good enough for dancers to dance again with are pretty cool.
