Bit Rot

What will happen to old media? Like ancient video formats, or Adobe Flash games. Or software (games, art, etc) for obsolete progamming languages. Do you think people will preserve it, or will it just be forgotten forever?

Right now, we try to preserve cave paintings and pottery of ancient cultures. I think that, for the sake of history, we need to preserve old technology too.

obviously we won't preserve everything. IIRC we've been producing more text than single human could read since medieval times, and we definitely have been doing that since the invention of a printing press. only a fraction of that is remembered
