That people are still using it is an important issue that should be addressed.

tbh they should just abandon gecko and become a non-botnet webkit browser

if chrome gets more market share, google will be able to dictate web standards

do you really want that to happen?

firefox performance and rendering aren't great, but you gotta support them anyway

These forks are nonsense. What's the difference between waterfox and firefox other than some default about:config settings?

Nothing, but how else are you going to feel important? Same with all the distros. Make a badly configured Debian/Ubuntu/Gentoo and suddenly you are an IMPORTANT LEADER OF A FREE AND OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE PROJECT!

I recently updated from esr 52 to firefox 61
It was a disaster, they added targeted ads to the blank page, removed a shit-ton of options, added emojies everywhere, crippled a lot of addons (such as privacy settings), killed a lot of addons (tab groups, classic theme restorer), and made it a shittier experience in general.

They should start by removing the bloat that is ads, pocket, telemetry, google anal-itics on the getaddons page, drm, the shitty backdoored NSA curves, and the shitty AES algorithm.

Waterfox does not run on proper OSes.

Works on my machine. You should compile harder, it builds character.

all those new logos look shitty and generic. why the fuck would you abandon an iconic, recognizable design for a shitty new trend?

IKR, Firefox is one of the most iconic images in Free software. Almost as popular as the VLC cone, perhaps. Would've thought it was something they'd cherish

Firefox developers and Mozilla foundantion are different people.

That's what usually happens when the head of PR changes. Did any such thing happen to Mozilla lately?

That one dude got fired for being anti-gay. I guess that was a while go, but it represented the downfall of old-school tech companies and the acceptance of SJW shit. Edited on 07/08/2018 09:07.
