Embrace the botnet

Or become obsolete. The only way to reform it is to use it, become familiar with it, rise up the ranks of the botnet, and change it from within.

Freetards are the reason why we have Android spyware. Build on Linux, sure. But it's not Linux in the traditional sense. Locked down, spies on you, etc. Useful idiots let Google use their shit for free so they can spy on literally billions of people. You were like ``well we can just give up on mobile since we have our desktops and thinkpads'' but now look at what that has done. We don't have a FOSS mobile equivalent because sedentary neckbeards saw no need for mobile technology. As such, you lost out.

Back in the day, neckbeards rejoiced when they could call Microsoft to get a refund for their copy of Windows on a new laptop. They didn't want to use Windows or accept its EULA. So they'd protest by asking for a refund and then installing Linux on it instead, maybe some boomer distro like SUSE or Mandriva or some shit. All dead now.

But you can't do the same on a phone. Why did the freetards give up? Have you thrown in the towel? Or are you just going to double down and pretend that desktops are perfectly acceptable?

I know some younger people. They make fun of me for having a laptop instead of just a phone. I am not making that up. Mobile is the future. We need to reform mobile. Become an expert on Android or iOS. Do what people did with Unix and GNU/Linux: replace it one piece at a time. The problem is, of course, that people don't use phones just for the OS. In fact, that's next to nothing for the user experience. It's all about apps. And apps are in app stores. If you want a 3rd party Android ROM to avoid Google spyware, well say goodbye to Google Play.

We lost, and these ``mobile doesn't matter'' boomers are to blame. If only you took it seriously, we could be running the equivalent to Debian on phones now, instead of proprietary spyware. But you didn't take it seriously, and now it might be too late.

It's getting to the point where many things require Android or iOS. People make payments or get digital tickets to events using apps. In some cases, you can't do certain things in real life without a phone. A computer isn't always an acceptable substitute anymore. People are changing the ways they use technology. Here's a hint: if you're a programmer and you've ever installed a desktop Linux distribution, you're not the average tech user. It doesn't mean you're necessarily better than other people, since your life might be worse in other ways, even if you are more tech-savvy. But what I'm trying to say is that the average person isn't like you. They need mobile. We have failed the average person.

Payment apps, banking apps, event coordination apps, communication apps. These are what average everyday people use. Nobody cares that you have a ``totally equivalent'' FOSS version in desktop Linux. They're going to use the Android or iOS versions.

You might think you're higher-tech for being a programmer and knowing a thing or two about computers, but that old way of using tech is becoming obsolete. If you don't at least learn about modern shit, you'll just become a living relic, a testament to ancient history. With accelerationism being realized, every year of modern technological advancements is like a decade or two. Getting a little behind the curve means you're getting REALLY behind.

If you embraced mobile and IoT and cloud, you could have potentially helped to advocate for more ethical decisions, but by opting out, this shit is terrible and there's next to no opposition for it.

It's going to get to the point where it's 100% required to use proprietary software and tracking. China already has a social credit system and many places use payment apps instead of cash or credit cards. It will only get worse.

Don't nail your own coffin. Acknowledge these changes and do something about it. If you don't, who will?
