Redpill me on RISC-V

Name: Anonymous 2018-09-09 1:38

What's the point in using this instead of ARM or x86? Explain it in plain English, not technobabble. Is it faster? More power-efficient? Respects muh freedums? Supports cool new instructions you can't use on ARM or x86/AMD64?

What is the benefit? Or is it just neckbeards reinventing the wheel to show that they can?

I mean, shit, I learned fucking MIPS in uni, and now I end up mainly doing JavaScript shit. Assembly is fucking useless these days, except for rootkits and weird-ass security exploits. Also good to know if you wanna reverse engineer shit in IDA Pro or Radare2 or whatever.

So what's the point of a new architecture?

Deluded academics think they can win mindshare with yet-another-MIPS-clone.

RISC is anti-academic.

RISC: Reduced Instruction Set Cucks

Imagine a RISC-V port of Shrine (a fork of TempleOS with networking and Discord).

It'd be the most autistic hardware/software combination ever.

Why are they raping TempleOS with this shit?

In a few years it'll end up on distrowatch as minimalist UNIX or something.

Name: Anonymous 2018-09-10 14:34

there are too many barely-maintained garbage pseudo-distros on distrowatch that are basically just neckbeards forking a real distro and changing the DE and logo and a couple default packages and then calling it their own

hell, remember the failed opensuse studio thing a while back? the ``make your own operating system xD'' bullshit

make your're are OS

The plane of numbers is a abstract subplane of mental plane where entities responsible to specific numbers (such as 11) gain power by focused attention from lower planes such as dubsposters.
You're feeding the egregores of these numbers and they may implant ideas through your mental body to focus on these posts and numbers, rewarding you with a "special" kind of creativity for posting.

How the fuck you manage to detect my posts???
Edit: I believe you associate esoteric posts with me, since i post most of them Edited on 11/09/2018 07:47.

not esoteric posts but specific lingo, as well as the specific worldview (it would be pretty hard to confuse a thelemite or a hermeticist with you, if such people posted on /prague/). as I said in the gamedev thread (which didn't have any occult stuff), your're are quite easy to spot. it might also be because I'm one of the few people who bother responidng to you

The difference between hermeticists/thelemites/etc and esoteric research is that these people are practicing a dogmatic religion/cult and don't create anything new, just follow a certain set of methods. They can't for example create a new mantra or research how their practices work "behind the scenes", how exactly the energy comes into their chakras and what kind of energy/element/subtle body they empower, etc no investigative qualities, just blind belief in the methods.

I don't think that's true for either of those approaches in theory (I'd argue that especially hermeticists were historically very experimental), although it certainly tends to happen in practice. anyway, I'm not arguing for those things anyway (I'm a bit of a skeptic, but I have theoretical interest in those topics), I'm just saying that your're are worldview and language you use are very recognizable and it's not just the interest in esoteric/occult stuff that makes you easy to spot.

Hermeticism is still bound to tradition.
They operate within limits of thought dictated by ancient writers. The whole "more ancient, more authoritative" sentiment on information, pervading mysticism and occult circles is bunch of mental roadblocks that constrict our worldviews.
