this is Loonix's chance to actually make it and become a "desktop" OS: be able to run seamlessly and efficiently run all Android apps on a Linux desktop.

Android has Microsoft Office and all that shit, way better than Ganoo/Loonix native software.

99% of people can get by on mobile apps.

ChromeOS already runs Android apps. You can also run an Android x86 VM or some other Android VM or simulation type program to run Android apps on a desktop or laptop. But in my experiences, performance and input was dodgy, and there were bugs. By input I mean some apps use multitouch gestures, but mice can't do that stuff on their own.

Mobile apps are crippled by design, they are intended to run on sub-Pentium4 level hardware, with touch-optimized interface.
Fully native desktop software will always be faster, easier and more feature-filled than some "apps"(which barely replicate a fraction of full desktop software).
