Try to select an area in MyPaint. Can't find it in menu or buttons. Turn out its impossible. Such advanced feature as MsPaint rectangle selection doesn't exist. The issue is 4 years old now. https://github.com/mypaint/mypaint/issues/31

There is no FOSS alternative to MSPAINT.EXE from 20 years ago. It’s sad but I don’t see this ever changing unless you personally take this up as a project. (But most likely you’ll lose interest and just create the nexf failed MSPAINT.EXE clone.)

>>9 This one works. Perfect replacement for mspaint for quick and dirty editing.
>>17 Because running MsPaint through wine isn't my first choice for image editing. I'm using something that fast, native and responsive(which is kolourpaint).

These are open source dubs. They're free, but inferior quality and provided without any warranty. Should you encounter an issue with them, the community will be rude to you because you're a mere muggle.

>>14 The best thing about kolourpaint is that unlike mspaint it allows to select how similar two colors may be in order to be considered the same for filling purposes, which is really great.
