Actually, if Linux dies, MS and Apple become a duopoly driving out open source and Lisp machines will be very unlikely in such climate. Software is also likely to use subscription model due lack of competition, so you're going to pay monthly to enjoy Microsoft LISP.NET if it ever will exist.

i'm talking about the soy ``development'' culture, not normalfags. very few people use Windows. most use Macs and spend most of their time using open sores software on it that they could easily have used Linux to run.

Macs are really good, because they offer standardized and actually good hardware, so you're guaranteed you can run Linux on them. The only problem is high price. But then again, you will lose more time/money trying to install Linux on top of cheaper non-name laptop, finding that Linux just doesn't work there. Until recently, OSX was also much easier to use than Linux. Unfortunately now they disallowed to install software from sources beside apple shop. Attempt to control their Mac developers is the Apple's single problem. They lose both developer and customer trust.

Back in 2006 I remember Mandrake Linux giving kernel panic on each second laptop, without booting even into bash prompt. Not speaking about having working battery info, sound, camera, mic, wifi, bt and other devices.

Also, mounting Samsung Galaxy on Linux is really beyond grasp of basic users. And if you have actual camera (the one you can shot movie onto) and need to realtime stream into web or colorkey process it, then good luck.

My headphones are totally broken and kill a few bands without proper EQ, so I cant switch to Linux until it:
1. gets support of bluetooth audio devices.
2. gets equalizer for any output device.
