I think keep sage but make it so that every sage by a unique poster makes the thread go down one position. The next unsaged post only bumps the thread to its previous position, not the top. IT takes two unsaged posts to bump the thread. If a thread reaches a certain number, say 3-4, unique sages it becomes permasaged or "unbumpable".

I think keep sage but make it so that every sage by a unique poster makes the thread go down one position. The next unsaged post only bumps the thread to its previous position, not the top. It takes two consecutive unsaged posts to bump the thread to the top, unless there were two consecutive sages then it would take four consecutive unsaged posts to bump the thread to the top, three sages in a row would require six consecutive unsaged posts to bump it to the top and so on. If a thread reaches a certain number, say 30, unique sages it becomes permasaged or "unbumpable".
