14 September 2019 (Sex between an adult and a child is wrong) Many years ago I posted that I could not see anything wrong about sex between an adult and a child, if the child accepted it. Since then, through personal conversations, I've learned to understand how sex with a child can harm per psychologically. This changed my mind about the matter: I think adults should not do that. I am grateful for the conversations that enabled me to understand why.

His first post about it was in 2006 or earlier though.

>>44 Stallman changed his stance on pedophilia right after getting into stoplight due to his Epstein apologetics.

Long ago Stallman was a nasty pedo and supported Linux, but now Stallman is straight and supports Microsoft Windows.

>>45 This is incorrect, I read the geek feminism article on him around a week ago and it said that he changed his opinion.

>>47 That is his (far-left) opinion on pedos, not child porn. People somehow conflate child porn, child rape and pedophilia into one creepy meme - basically if you view a picture of someone underaged its the same as child rape.

>>48 Additionally if a child sends such a picture(sexting or sharing), the child would be tried as child porn distributor and registered as a pedophile, sexual predator for life(US law).

>>48 This is also in line with :"revenge porn" re-traumatizes women and is the same as rape - stance adopted by feminists and getting pushed into law in recent years. The underlying thought process is those who view "picture/video of something" are the same who would do anything in the "picture/video" and deserve the same penalties - aka "videogame crimes are real crimes" argument used to condemn violent videogames.
There is no question that forced online sexual activity – whether through text, animation, malicious scripts or other means – is real; and is a traumatic experience that can have a profound and unpleasant aftermath, shaking your faith in yourself, in the community, in the platform, even in sex itself.

>>58 Youtube had the "most video CP"(basically casual child nudity or children being erotic(in the eyes of censors of course)), but they cracked down on that and now these are banned on sight and videos with children can't have comments..(any videos featuring children). Facebook on the other hand is deep quagmire of closed groups where god knows what happens, thankfully they now cooperate with law enforcement after being in public spotlight(cf. the recent articles on facebook moderator burnout): https://fortune.com/2017/03/07/facebook-child-pornography/

>>57 They are correct: "Richard is specifically a public figure who influences a lot of people, and some of that influence comes from platforms like his MIT professorship that imply endorsement from other groups.
I agree it's distasteful for people to focus on personal judgements about Stallman's communications when we haven't walked in his shoes, mentally. But public discourse is necessary to determine what to do with the platform given to comments like this - including if they come from "non-neurotypical" individuals.
Separately, because Stallman's area of focus extends into community formation and protection of individual rights, I don't agree that his statements about sexual coercion are separate from the rest of his work."

Most support him. This is IMO the most balanced opinion:
I really, really, do not understand why some people's reaction to this is trying to get him fired or to apologize.
Right here we have one human being that will ponder on random issues and offer his honest opinion. He will do it without regard for social pressure. This is an incredible rare thing! This is an amazing thing, go browse your Facebook or LinkedIn feed and see how "authentic" it sounds. What's more, this gentleman is a very rational person and does not shy away from thinking about pedophilia and various paraphilia. What's more he seems truly inquisitive in understanding how to measure what Minsky did, what motivations and perceptions each participant had, etc. This is so much more important than just getting revenge, being constantly angry on the internet or just saying Epstein was evil and calling it a day.
We need much, much more people like Stallman and much, much less people that will cry foul on a Medium post when someone doesn't go along with what they want.

>>61 Support Stallman! Support RussiaToday and Putin!
>>62 Fact: Stallman has nothing to do with Russia. He's just not fond of the land of the fat (even though he's fat himself). Aligning him with Russia because of this is a false dichotomy falacy.
If the choice of a sexual partner were protected by the Constitution, prostitution, adultery, necrophilia, bestiality, possession of child pornography, and even incest and pedophilia also would be. All of these acts should be legal as long as no one is coerced. They are illegal only because of prejudice and narrowmindedness. Some rules might be called for when these acts directly affect other people's interests. For incest, contraception could be mandatory to avoid risk of inbreeding. For prostitution, a license should be required to ensure prostitutes get regular medical check-ups, and they should have training and support in insisting on use of condoms. This will be an advance in public health, compared with the situation today. For necrophilia, it might be necessary to ask the next of kin for permission if the decedent's will did not authorize it. Necrophilia would be my second choice for what should be done with my corpse, the first being scientific or medical use. Once my dead body is no longer of any use to me, it may as well be of some use to someone.
Next week: RMS commits suicide, CIA not involved. Autopsy denied. FSF adds senior posts for Microsoft and Google representatives. Next version of GPL(you were stupid enough to write "any future version of GPL"?) will add subtle changes to allow commercial exploitation.
