A terribly good day for anything not Rust

Watching the meltdown and fallout from a distance over this has been most enjoyable. This shitstorm wasn't caused by any one developer, but rather by the entire toxic community of Rust developers who are now ratcheting down further into a purity spiral

It's only been two weeks but the signs are everywhere. By every metric, Rust is an utter failure. 2020 marks the end of the Rust hype.

- Rust dropped support for another architecture
- Mozilla is having mass layoffs
- 2019's fastest growing programming language was C
- Five years after Rust 1.0, there are still no rust jobs
- Because there are no rust projects
- Firefox, Libra, Way Cooler...
- Every major rust project is abandon or dead
- Companies that use Rust are in major trouble
- NPM had mass layoffs
- Dropbox is down double digits since their IPO
- Community destroys everything with their terrible groupthink

Godspeed, chinaman, fun is what it's about.
