I just want a productive modern language with fast binaries and little retardation.

Why do they always come in and spoil the fun by introducting some uber complicated security system.

Now even D has lifetimes and a stupid safe/unsafe distinction.

the point is that there is no 'the way' to do security. garbage-collected languages are one way, but at the cost of performance. overcomplicated languages like Rust are another, but at the cost of programming time and effort. and this is just for memory safety, which is not all there is to security. no amount of memory safety will save you from command injections, or from sending shit in plaintext.
