Is there a format that's both human and computer readable?

XML was good enough. Millenials were not happy with its features, dismissing them as shortcomings, and have created Jayson, which has all the downsides of XML (verbose, impossible to debug once it's longer than a screenful) and some more (no actual specification, no comments).
