We Must Push the Web Backward

Name: Cudder !cXCudderUE 2021-05-24 7:05

Google controls the browser, it controls what people see when they search the Internet, it already knows more about most people than they think it knows about them. ReCAPTCHA is their way of forcing you to use only the spyware-filled, user-tracking, sheeple-making browser they control, because you'll be blocked from accessing many sites that use it -- which have zero actual affiliation with Google itself!

We need to push back against this "progress" before it's too late. The frog is already starting to cook. Use simple HTML without JS because it works for 90% of the time. For the 10% that needs JS, stay away from the new and shiny, and don't get on the deprecation treadmill. Google's monopoly weapon is change, and you can fight it by staying still and encouraging others to do the same. Every site you make that works only in the latest version of Chrome (or even Firefox, which just gets dragged around by Google) is only helping the monopoly become stronger.

Simple HTML is viewable in all browsers. Showing the exact same content using the latest trendy JS framework only reinforces the monopoly.
