I have just pulled off a classic Boulevardier maneuver. These two white guys were sitting at the round ADA table for almost two hours. I was sitting at the only other round table, one of three tables total. I had the paranoid suspicion that they were trying to thwart me in my table-hopping. When I went briefly to the bathroom, I was afraid that they would get up and leave my favorite table to some interloper.
So I took out my Starbucks 2009 GOld Card and I held a section of the NYT while I walked to the end of the order-line, but with no intention of ordering anything. The Rubes fell for it. They said their good-byes and they walked out the front door. SO I put my claiming newspaper and my claiming Gold Card down on the desired table. Then
mutatis mutandis I sat down here.
