I haven't seen it yet, but I thought the previous were pretty nice. Diehard fans apparently hate it like all other touhou anime projects, but I don't take my girls in frilly dresses that seriously.

It's not as you put it, though. A good portion of /jp/ seems to hate Manpuku Jinja's Memories of Phantasm, while a smaller portion seems to like Maikaze's Musou Kakyou. Supposedly the former tries too hard to be dark, but they seem to be ignoring the fact the latter is full of secondary maymays like le sleepy NEET princess.
