Have any of you had success with dumpster diving for free stuff?

Let's share stories and techniques for dumpster diving in this thread.

I once found a bicycle sticking out of a dumpster, and I cleaned it up and fixed it and drove it around for some time, and sold it later for a decent price.

I would love to hear your dumpster diving exploits and tips.

In my region, people place damaged/not-working electronic equipment next to the dumpster, so either people pick it up and fix it or it is taken to dismantling/recycling.
