Aponyism is the belief that there is no Equestria and no My Little Pony. In other words, it is a belief that cannot be verified. It is impossible to prove that there is no Princess Celestia. By definition, you cannot prove a negative. So Aponyism is a totally blind belief, that cannot be verified. Who, but a less intelligent idiot would believe in something blindly?
On the other hand, a ponyist, at least theoretically, has the possibility to have his faith in Twilight Sparkles verified. Twilight Sparkles, if She exists, can certainly prove Her own existence beyond doubt. So ponyists are intellectually more well situated than aponyists because they believe in something that has the possibility of verification.
