"Free speech"

Name: Anonymous 2015-06-19 10:54

"Free speech" only has value when it can be used to expose corruption and organize resistance to, and awareness of, untenable situations. But everybody is too retarded for that, and would rather cry about garbage.

Hell, even the Occupy Wall Street movement WILLINGLY gave up on talking about big-finance corruption and enforced economic inequality in favor of crying about sluts, transgendered perma-victims and other upper-class non-issues.

It's laughable to cry about "free speech" in a climate where all speech that people pay any attention to is simply a pointless argument between rich kids over who is the most moral.

Face it, we are being controlled by too much speech, not too little. Everything has become an empty spectacle where only meaningless emotions and immediate gratification are given weight and you'd be hard-pressed to find somebody who actually believed in humanity's value let alone was willing to make short-term sacrifices or admit wrong for the greater good.

The reason everything devolves into "upper-class non-issues" is because the lower classes of the Western world have been silenced through a terrible education system. Also Occupy Wall Street had to be an upper-class non-issue because of the logistics and costs of protesting.

If you try and talk about inequality in the US (and others) you have to talk about the class problem - the failure of socialized education, wages not keeping up with COL and the failure of welfare (which has decimated communities) - but a bunch of rich kids can't do it because they benefit from keeping the poor living hand to mouth and being uneducated.

All they can do is cry about gay and transgender and women's rights and pretend that the class problem isn't there. The media has to comment on the fucking obvious poverty and inequality, but again, they frame it as a race issue to avoid the implications of class-based inequality.

The implications are that the Western world has been co opted by a small group who have horded all the wealth and opportunity and pulled the ladder up behind them. The people in the media and universities directly benefit from this situation.
