Part of the reason why I don't play a lot of games that require the voice comms (except for mumble and vent for gaming with friends) is that I don't want to have to deal with the harassment. But as far as me being a filthy casual... Uhh.

I'm playing Dwarf Fortress heavily right now. Got Fallout Shelter on my phone in anticipation of 4 coming out. I've stayed up raiding all night, into the next morning, into the next night... In the original EverQuest. WoW is a cakewalk compared to that game, and I should know because I hardcore raided WoW too. I play Crusader Kings 2 while participating in online RPG sessions (much to the GM's dismay). I have been doing this for probably longer than most people who bother to make the asinine claim that women are casual players. Most people don't even know who they're playing with when they're online for good reason (because women get treated pretty poorly so they disguise that) and women like myself have been drummed out of the heavy voice-chat games because it's hard to disguise your voice.

Women are out there. The reason we seem to be so very rare is that half of your male peers have decided that we are the enemy. We've learned. We've adapted. We're like Predators...
