This is a typical US school: https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Carver_Elementary_School.JPGNot typical. That plaque reads it is Detroit segregation time school for african-americans. So no wonder it looks like a prison and kids who grown up in that school ended up in prison for robbery.
