GIVING UP ON AMAZON SHOPPING BY CHOICE

Name: Anonymous 2016-08-29 11:04

I had to abandon Amazon as an online shopping destination because I couldn't stand dealing with fucking Indians when I wanted to return something. Seeing a name like Daneesharma Prikha responding to my support request just makes my blood boil. Anybody else? Me, I just can't stand it.

Ecommerce != Logistics
Should we pause for a second to think about how retarded that statement is? Amazon controls its own fulfillment network from factory to ship/plane to warehouse to truck to door. By moving billions of items through this chain every year it gains an enhanced ability to fine-tune its complex operation in a way that a new competitor cannot match. Amazon will soon be able to collect a million potato peelers from a factory in China, ship or fly them to the USA on its fleets of ships and jets, split them into hundreds of shipments to its thousands of warehouses around the country, and ensure anybody in the USA can order a potato peeler for *factory direct pricing* and get it the next day. But according to you that has nothing to do with logistics.

If Amazon were actually peeking into people's AWSes a la PRISM
No, they are on the forefront of how to transfer, store, compress, search, and organize data that is gathered.

Yes, that is the point of gathering the data. To improve their service and make it consistently improved. They are becoming logistics gods through the intelligent gathering, learning, and applying of data but they are not there yet. But you know how if you do something ten million times a day you start to get quite good at it? And if you record how you did it each day then go over that and think about how to improve it for the next day, you get even better? That's what Amazon is doing. Already you are much more likely to get your package in two days using Amazon than any other logistics company and that is improving.
b-b-buh tbh amazon isn't logistics company smh wtf lol
That's where you're wrong. Amazon is interested in the logistics of getting the package to your door, not the service of doing it. They use literally every shipping company if it is likely (according to data) to get that package to you faster.
