@ruthlessadmin 15 hours ago Can't the old drivers be made available separately and still be compiled in optionally, or as modules? I can understand cleaning up the main code base, but completely removing old, stable hardware support seems asinine. In any case, how does stable code that doesn't need to be touched, affect a developer's productivity, with or without AI? 1
@barbodrz8645 13 hours ago All of the drivers ware part of the monolithic kernel in Linux but since it's not a micro kernel it won't be separate at. Examples for monolithic kernels Linux and Darwin for macos I think and I think nt for windows and micro kernels are hurd kernel from gnu and minix I think which you gotta fact check some of these but many kernels in use are monolithic ones right and are being updated more often

@Vita-Linux 8 hours ago Just go to BSD, that's what i will have to do at the end, when Arch completely screw things up, after that Void which is already woke, could get worse than what it is, and if Void is not even an option, damn.. i guess go back to Windows and dualbooting with BSD, linux was great, i discovered it for the first time in late 2021, but after just a few years it completely went off the rails
@SarcasticTofu 6 hours ago It's high time to make a hard fork Linux using the very last Rust free AI free version of Linux Kernel 6.0.19.. Linux seems to be a dead system.. lets fork it and call it something like AliveSys or UAlive (Unix Alive).. just like XLibre has been forked and SonicDE has just born.. then we can add newer hardware support slowly.. The AliveSys should exclusively RUST and WOKE free
