I think the ones that are detected are disturbances in the medium of different intensity and duration.
I think there is only a large positive stable disturbance.
A small negative stable disturbance.
And the inverse of those
I think since their maxima can be nothing other than + or - the same amount, this is what gives rise to quanta.
I think the neutron is a large positive stable disturbance interjected by a small negative stable disturbance, and is not a fundamental particle in itself.
I think light/em is reverberations within the medium.
I think gravity, magnetism, strongforce is different more ordered effects of the same underlying attraction of the - to the +.
I think this is all hinted at by the tested fact [the donut experiment done in Japan in the late 1980s] that electrons are affected by scalar fields that are not local to the electron (electrons are affected by fields inwhich they are not present). Which allows an electron thus to be affected by protons very far away, even if only slightly.
