On /g/ the post rate is faster so to keep a thread on the front page long enough for it to start the OP will customarily bump it repeatedly with posts intended to bait posters. Here there is no worry for a thread falling down, but it is boring to make a post and not immediately gain replies. So they continue to bait and talk to themselves until they get one. They are used to the instant gratification of the image boards and aren't accustomed to the concept of a conversation lasting weeks. As a result, the end up dominating the entire board until every thread is about them.Maybe this should be added into the FAQ, with some mention on the old "every thread will be replied to, NO EXCEPTIONS!"
