I am about to start my graduate studies in an American university, moving from my native Peru. Over the course of my under-graduation, I have developed this strange habit of watching porn at odd times, say afternoon, or morning. Sometimes I watch in classroom too, of course, reducing the volume to zero. I ensure I do not disturb others while watching, by not giggling, or engaging in other clumsy activities.
I am nervous about moving to America. Will I be caught by the IT admin of the university and suspended or barred? Does this policy change with universities? Do some universities not mind this? Many of my friends spend their entire nights in their labs and I find it difficult to believe they do not visit any porn sites.

Porn is degenerate, modern University "culture" is degenerate. No, you'd be fine.

If something does happen, you're most likely a mestizo, so just claim false victimhood and blame the administration of having "white privilege" (even though a decent size contingent of them won't be white or (((some))) of them like to masquerade as white for political purposes); the local social justice warriors will see to it that you get "justice" and you'll get your fifteen minutes of fame (actually longer considering how the Internet operates), if you don't mind that, but you'll most likely be fine.
This earned the badges [Good Question], [Notable Question], and [Nice Question].
Also, I am touched by how thoughtful the answerers were in informing Señorita Carlos that viewing child pornography is considered poor form in the United States. You can always count on StackOverflow to save you!

I am teaching a Calculus II session this semester.
The class period is from 2pm to 2:50pm, on Mondays and Wednesdays.
The problem is that my students keep farting while I am going over important theorems and homework problems on the chalkboard.
How can I do something about this?
The smell is horrible; it's like a mixture of hot sulfur mixed in with Chipotle burritos, which I am guessing is what many of them are eating before attending my class. (We have a Chipotle nearby.)
I am afraid to speak up, yet I see no plan of action that would get the point across to my disrespectful students.
What would YOU do?

>>6 You dirty racist. Just because your students are Hispanic doesn't mean you can dislike the smell of their farts.
>>1 I don't think its illegal per se, as long as the porn itself isn't illegal (like child porn or something). You might get in trouble with the professor if he or she catches you, but that's not a legal issue. I doubt they monitor your web usage to see if you watch porn, since apparently most guys watch porn on a fairly regular basis. I'd avoid torrenting stuff though, because that does get logged and can get you in trouble (not because its porn, but because of illegally sharing copyrighted content).
