Sup /lang/, it just occured to me that there's really nothing inherent about numerals like 1, 2, 3 that would lead speakers to pronounce them "one", "two", and "three", and indeed, a Spanish speaker would look at those numbers and use entirely different words like uno, dos, and tres.
Numerals therefore follow the same principle as a logogram, but is it entirely a logogram? I mean, we also have derivations like 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, which are derived from different words but use the same numeral/symbol.
