The cops absolutely hate, Hate, HATE when you follow the regulations of the road. Since they're required to record every interaction, if it shows that you did everything properly, they can't do anything to you. This is why I don't go out with my car unless I have to to make errands, or for work. Make sure that tags and inspection stickers are also up to date, if they're desperate, they'll try to cite you for that when they're patrolling through the neighborhood.
