So none of you have long-term plans? Just winging it?

To have long-term plans, you have to have luxury of living in a stable, predictable world. Most people can't afford that.

Its not chess. Long-term you can imagine plans and ideas, but you'll need adjustments to reality. A good plan is to do the least work for most benefit - at worst you wasted a few days of work, at best you got the benefit. No point at slaving away for years in hopes of reaching the imaginary goal.

Being that naive was confined to children, thinking of their career and future life in the certainty of medical diagnosis. But no, autists had to pretend their life has to revolve around great plans, perfect sequences of events and adhere to a ruleset they invented for the plan. They're greatly disappointed when their chessmastery doesn't meet the goal and they can't adapt to the new circumstances.

They simply believe that like a religious conviction, any doubt will doom the perfect sequence, the great plan and force them to start from step one. They'd not accustomed to adapt and improvise, feeling like fish out of water when world doesn't work as they expect it to perform - their world exists entirely in their head, along with these great plans. Some can't accept their great plan being unreachable fantasy, so they double down and end up losing their sanity, their imagined plans blown away by unexpected events and circumstances.

To be fair, it's that attitude that created civilization in the first place. People who accept their plans as fantasy are usually called cucks, while those who double down may lose their sanity or they may just force the world to be predictable again. Either way it beats being some cuckold weirdo.

Only unreasonable people can do anything of value. Imagine if you ancestors had just accepted that chopping down trees and building highways that span countries was unrealistic. If they had said "oh well better not try what if we fail and lose our sanity in the process?"

Plans of organizations and states are different from individual plans. These are programs and budgeted projects that are systems into themselves, not attached to a person in particular and formed by consensus.

Okay but what about rogue lumberjacks who chopped down enough trees to build a house by themselves?

Only unreasonable people stick with the plan in face of danger. Theres always plan B,C,D.
Changing the recipe to suit the products you have, playing up the circumstances for your strengths and not blindly following a robotic algorithm.

That a pretty simple plan and it won't be 10 years long. They also probably adjusted the plan to suit the wood planks they had.

Doubtful. Many ended up with poor quality wood and went on axe rampages I'd expect. You see, the same urge that makes a man stubborn to the point of insanity is the one that makes it possible for him to perform big feats in the first place.

Plan B(itch) is out for a man who is committed to performing a great endeavor.

You forgetting how guild systems used to operate. Some construction projects lasted generations and people were born into their trade roals. Just take at look at early surnames, families and occupations were often synonymous.

people were born into their trade roals.
Not really. Apprentice-master system ensured anyone can become a part of a guild.

Possible, but not that common.
