NPCs are not soulless automatons

Name: Anonymous 2018-10-14 9:09

NPCs are egregore-controlled humans, they still have an independent mind but their mind is enslaved and used as a tool for expressing the egregore mind, like a two-way radio channel.
see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egregore
Its possible to disrupt the link to egregore by subversive thought insertion(aka memes), allowing the original mind to assert its will and independent thought. The egregore can't focus on multiple mental challenges simultaneously and the "radio channel" has limited capacity.
NPCs can be reformed to PCs.

Name: Anonymous 2018-10-14 9:51

The most effective memes are the ones that force them to consider they're NPCs, even for a single moment. Its obviously working now with free media exposure and common understanding of videogame slang.

Name: Anonymous 2018-10-14 10:01

Weaknesses of NPCs:
1.Lack of abstract thought, understanding of hypothetical/future scenarios.
2.Lack of creativity and imagination, emulation and repetition of received content.
3.Lack of original thought, deference to authority and media.
Memes need to exercise these qualities to the breaking point, forcing to use their actual minds.

4.NPCs think in black/white absolutes, without the idea of compromise or middle-ground.
So if you're for X, you're against Y and vice versa. Memes that exploit the subtlety of middle-ground and third option will be very effective.

the "radio channel" has limited capacity.
no it doesn't, the channel is social media, and people are being given terrible ideas through their smartphones, with fake news about identity politics that conditions people into thinking a certain way

Name: Anonymous 2018-10-15 3:25

>>5
The 'radio channel' is egregore mind control channel.
Social media is a field of content not a single-entity. Its like claiming all animation is a single-channel of specific entity.

The NPC meme is a psyop by Jews and Satanists/Masons to get you in their mindset of seeing others as disposable profane. Also the inner voice horseshit is a lie to convince you demons are your "inner voice".

Ask yourself this.

If you're not an NPC you're a player character.....

But Who's playing you?

The NPC meme is designed deliberately so you don't ask yourself this.

you're overthinking it, a meme is just a meme
the NPC meme is rooted in ego and also solipsism, to some degree

My diddle is rooted in your butthole, to some degree.

People here are only talking about NPC here now because it got banned from Twitter. Last week y'all were all talking about Alex Jones for the same reason. It's like Twitter has 100% full power over your thoughts and emotions, whomever or whatever they ban takes your attention. I bet when trump gets banned you'll all be screaming "le maga" and all that too. Fucking lemmings.....

NPC: If you're not a NPC, who is controlling you? I can't imagine not being controlled by an external mind.

NPC:All PCs are controlled by their inner speech, PCs just execute every verbal command they hear in their mind. It can't be otherwise.

Name: Anonymous 2018-10-15 5:42

I just realized NPCs must think of PC with inner speech as schizos with "voices in their head". i.e. they believe a PC will not resist a voice command in their mind or that all thoughts/speech are commands to be executed.

Literally everyone has an inner monologue. This NPC meme is trash to make dumb 4chan kids think they're special.

Name: Anonymous 2018-10-15 5:45

“It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.” Aristotle is surprisingly relevant here, replaced educated with non-NPC

Name: Anonymous 2018-10-15 5:50

Reminder that "NPC" is the same way Jews see the goyim.

Stop dehumanizing people.

It shock therapy for NPC to force them to realize their NPC mind is enslaved and throw off egregore mind control.

NPC memes literally make NPCs' programming malfunction. I've never seen anything like it, the butthurt and confusion is off the charts.

The irony of the NPC meme is that it is most often spouted by brainless repeaters of political non-thought.
4chan /pol/ is the most NPC board of all chans.

Name: Anonymous 2018-10-15 10:08

>>23
That's literally what an NPC suffering from butthurt would post. I didn't beleive in the NPC meme until just now, holy shit.

Name: Anonymous 2018-10-15 10:16

>>23
If NPCs were capable of introspection they wouldn't spread it. But since NPCs think in black/white terms NPC/PC division cleanly falls into us/others system that allows NPCs to easily label their enemies as NPCs and proclaim themselves as PCs. A hidden benefit is that semi-conscious NPCs are forced to think before posting their hivemind drivel, lest they be critiqued as "another mindless NPC".
NPC is therefore the most useful meme that currently exists, and its censorship proves how fragile the NPCs minds are.
A NPC that has the shadow of "being exposed as NPC" looming over him, develops a reflex to not shitpost random NPC reactions - raising the quality of overall discussion.

Something is missing from your hypothesis.

Name: Anonymous 2018-10-15 10:48

That requires doubt on being a NPC(semi-conscious NPC). NPCs are not a monolithic species, they are capable of escaping their status. A->B reactions stop when NPC realizes how automatic and thoughtless they look.

I'll need an example of this happening. And happening because of NPC memes, not because of coordinated effort of PCs to give a character agency.
So far we have a good counterexample, showing that pointing out someone's automatic script leads to worldview preserving denial and claims of butthurt.

Okay, this has some truth. I remember when I was younger, I told my friend about an idea that maybe everyone besides me was an illusion (middle school solipsism), and he got extremely mad. More mad than you would predict. Not like, "Hey you're a fucking retard," but angry like he caught me fucking his mother. For some reason this exchange still lingers in my memory. I don't get it--if you have consciousness, then someone telling you that you're an NPC shouldn't bother you because it'd be as false as some idiot saying, "The sky is green."

Spooky.

That said I'm against the NPC meme because it's dehumanizing and unethical. Every genocide in history was precipitated by memes that dehumanized its targets. This is just the modern version of that.

Name: Anonymous 2018-10-15 11:02

You understand that there is nothing wrong with genocide and you only fear it due to your programing right? It's a bit rich for you to be pontificating as though you are capable of introspection while still being totally controlled by your programing.

Name: Anonymous 2018-10-15 11:03

Before the NPC memes, the similar question was labeled "the philosophical zombie" and it reduces to "hard problem of consciousness" that exists because science can't accept non-physical minds(souls/subtle bodies) existing.

Genocide is wrong because it artificially interferes with natural selection. You don't get to decide who lives or dies, the environment does. Putting you in charge of choosing future humans will lead to a weak species of amorphous blobs ill suited to thrive anywhere but basements in Finland. The law of the jungle predates cultural programming.

Name: Anonymous 2018-10-15 11:20

You forgot to say why is it wrong, you only said why it makes you mad.

Unfortunately, its not something i can produce on a whim, this is comparable to feral children being domesticated and encultured. However, lets argue from the reductio ad absurdum: lets imagine NPCs are irredeemable, soulless automatons like the common concept of instinctual animal.
Do you agree that animals can be trained?
NPCs can be controlled in the same way, except on a more subtle level where such training is mental modeling. Behaviors, habits, reactionary responses can be changed in animals. Dr Pavlov experiments on conditioning dogs for example.
The goal is to develop the mental models of NPCs to include doubt, introspection and self-reflection. Memes exposing the reactionary nature of NPCs are forcing changes in culture overall where NPCs are pushed towards the uncomfortable philosophical realizations and discussion when NPCs are ridiculed are forcing self-reflection.
Not all NPCs will be reformed of course, i don't guarantee it,i just propose its possible to reform them and change their thinking. Your question is it "possible to improve their level of thinking" is not at all crucial, the key is slowly changing narratives of NPC-dominated culture to acknowledges its own nature.

Name: Anonymous 2018-10-15 11:36

>>35
I didn't say it's impossible, just not feasible without explicit training, as opposed to just calling him a NPC.
Vast, vast majority of cases where NPC meme is invoked can be summed up as:
you are a NPC because you disagree with my fringe political views built on grandiose claims from insincere ideologues who have strong ties to known fossil fuel lobbyists
It's like trying to wake someone up by turning OFF the lamp next to his bed.

Name: Anonymous 2018-10-15 11:49

>>36
Calling him a NPC is a first step. its changing the concept of "being a NPC" to a legitimate part inside the Overton window.
Now that we got the foot in the door, the second step is to expose NPC thought patterns and move the NPC idea to the forefront - forcing to NPC to deny its NPCness and fight on another level where the idea of NPC is acknowledged by both side.
The NPCs spreading the meme is helping regardless of how they apply it, its forcing the public hiveminds to incorporate "NPC" into media narratives, news segments, etc. The familiarity with videogame slang and simple non-political nature of the phrase make it neutral and subversively potent. NPC is simultaneously most dehumanizing and most neutral thing you can say to a NPC:
Its maddening to be coldly and scientifically evaluated as a biological bot and the more NPC engages in the discussion to prove his non-NPCness the more chances he will be trapped in their own web of contradictions, ontological paradoxes/causal loops and circular thinking.

That's not how the NPC meme is actually used.
In vast majority of cases, it is used automatically, without thought, with the implication that if you disagree with one script, you are following another one.
For as long as it is used primarily politically, by the least thoughtful group of internet ideologues, it will not wake up many people.

Name: Anonymous 2018-10-15 12:18

That's not how the NPC meme is actually used.
It doesn't matter how its used, its the reaction of NPCs and narrative shift that matters.

Name: Anonymous 2018-10-15 12:25

There is no monopoly on using this meme. The beauty of "NPC" as a concept its could be applied to any political group-think, as political groups are stuffed by NPCs to the brim. The meme is like exposing the "standard uniform" of specific subculture, without being specific. The reaction of NPCs is emotional, instinctual, reactionary and immediate.
