Rich people didn't get that way by being stupid, if we get so greedy as to demand 70% from them, then we'll end up getting 0%.

But by all means, let's make America one giant abortion clinic covered in solar cells, topped by windmills with nothing but "Prius Only Parking." Let's replace prisons with medical marijuana stands as far as the eye can see and we'll steal 70% of earnings from the productive class to pay for it.

Productive class and capital class are not necessarily the same. Rich people pay less taxes because they don't have (much) income, they have capital gains.
