Magic strangely resembles Warhammer Psykers

Recently i was reading Warhammer40k lore, it it struck me that it all applies to our world much better than fictional wizards casting fireballs and general idea of "magic"(except maybe Crowley's idea of "magick"). The threat of corruption(warp, astral parasites) and arcane energies barely contained in human body(kundalini anyone?) and general idea that humans are only a conduit for transformative energy.
Warhammer psykers are always under threat of Chaos because they are the conduits of warp(astral) energy not coming from within themselves but rather connecting to Warp(astral plane) to use its energy.
