Im on unemployment in oklahoma and I dont know if Im doing unemployment fraud even though I have reasons to not be employed. Beforehand Ill say im taking the time during this shit to help my granpa and grandma out while they heal from leg surgery (both of them). I landscape, do yardwork, get stuff from upstairs, etc. I am taking music buisness classes and hopefully can get started on something (dont get hopes up I know, theyre never really up)
I was employed as a theater technician and had just interviewed for a position on an online nanny site where I would work in my area. Covid happened pretty much right after the interview, not a surprise. I file for unemployment because of the theater, and get some job offers from the nanny site. The only thing is they are temporary positions, are contracted for 6mo-12mo and are with kids who can easily have covid (i have to assume its real because im taking care of the elderly) I have reported all job offers ive declined to the unemployment offices, however I told the nanny site that I wasnt comfortable working at the moment because im helping with my gp and gm and all that.
What exactly are my rights here because all searching shows that its vaguely in my rights but the fine print not so much.
Im willing to cancel my unemployment claim and work and change things but Im trying to make a music buisness that I can live off of w a part time job, right now ive had so much time to actually do what I need to do and be there with my family. Pls help
