Hi, some years ago I bought a bc rich MK3 warbeast (not warlock, war beast) MK3 guitar in guitar centre. The moment I got it home I scalloped the fretboard like YNGWIE MALMSETEEN instructs. Because it makes you go fast. Took me 3 days to do. In my garage.
I learned a new style of play that way: you could make it sound like a sitar, espec on the bass wound strings (u kno me? U KNO ME?). anyway I really like it. I have other gtars. None more than 300, except the 8 string schecter which was 600 dollars. I have other Basses: hofner from gtar center, and a 5 string ibanez 205 alder body.
I like the cheap imports as they have 1) light bodies. 2) are not so expensive. 3) u can work on dem uself.
I missed the time to get a warbeast 4 string bass because I had no money. THing is I don't work. I am a licensed attorney, and as a hobby an opensource programmer. But "N" "P" "N" "W". So no, "fellow" YTs: I'm not going to shell out infinite money for an expensive bass that I can't do my own woodworking (scalloping etc) on. I like inexpensive and thus able to be modded gtar and bass. Also the xpensive ones are heavy.
Also I put it through an SY-1 synth pedal anyway. Bolt on keneck doesn't bother me.

So guise. How the hell do I get the fking 300 dollarino warbeast bass 4string gtar? Is it possible? I got routers (big and small) and wood working tools, but I'm not sure about doing a body myself: I don't want the thing to break along the grain and I don't have a planer. If I cut out the warbeast shape wouldn't the pointy stuff just break along the grain: isn't this why they use 2 or 3 layers of wood in different directions? (I think 3 often)??? So since I don't have a planer I was hoping
1) I could find a warbeast 4 string bass (used to be called the warbeast trace bass) new still around for 300 dollars
2) A used one for that or LESS (no I'm not paying a billion dollars for chinkonesean shit that I'm going to scallop: sorry YT fellow fk) THIS IS A PROJECT NOT A BIZ.
3) A BODY that I could then attach a neck and finish myself.
4) somehow on al* ex*pr*s find the guys who made the original imports a few years ago and get that (found them for the guitar btw: they're still making those).
5) Do it myself BUT I DONT HAVE A PLANER!!111 and a planer is mondo muny.
And NO I will NOT "get a jerb".
