Why are programmers such pseudo-intellectuals?

I mean you don't see electronics engineers come up with some stupid social commentary about why a particular group of people aren't using a particular (albeit of extremely high quality) brand of tool.

Wrong bitch, I'm not a USAian. You should have taken the hint given that my position is quite rare in good old bipartisan USA (where practically everyone is either civil liberal (which is very often in contradiction with civil libertarianism) and on the economic left, or civil conservative (which for them means a diluted version of Judeo-Christian authoritarianism) on the rather extreme economic right).
