Is there anything /prog/ won't do for money?

I just turned down a "very nice" job offer from a FINANCIAL INSTITUTION, preferring instead to work far less hour for faaaar less pay in the field of THIRD WORLD DEVELOPMENT AID. Am I wrong?

As someone who shamefully works for a financial institution, I find your example inspiring. My excuse is that I have a family to support, etc. and that I'm not actively doing evil, just not anything especially good. But if you don't have dependents, I think you are doing the right thing. Assuming development aid helps; I have no idea.

Sort of unrelated, but apparently working for porn or gambling sites makes it harder to get work in more legitimate industries. People don't want to work with a scumbag. Assuming that property lies on a scale, if you ever wind up with kids and you need money, you will probably find it easy to transfer to a higher paying job.
