Is there anything /prog/ won't do for money?

I just turned down a "very nice" job offer from a FINANCIAL INSTITUTION, preferring instead to work far less hour for faaaar less pay in the field of THIRD WORLD DEVELOPMENT AID. Am I wrong?

So what is the most honorable profession that's actually achievable? Corporate-sponsored Linux kernel dev? Shoestring payroll of the FSF? Contributor to *BSD? Six-figure ENTERPRISE developer who uses his riches to fund Free software bounties? Teacher? Tdavis? rms?
