A whooping 230kb of Java code is required to implement just basic game mechanics (i.e. no unit special abilities, upgrades or other involved gameplay elements). That is a lot for such a simple game.

That's awesome OP, very fun. Can play WCII over the net with dosbox using IPX emulation, it's great! So WC has been ported to lisp twice and now java.
