This guy made a distributed operating system: https://github.com/urbit/urbit

Or at least, I think that's what's going on here, because he's all full of mysticism and goes on and on about traditions and instincts. Meanwhile I can't understand half a word of his sparsely documented source code. The language he made up seems to borrow all the worst parts of Befunge and APL, and even his C is kind of obfuscated. It's like trying to read a newspaper in Hmoob.

Am I just too intellectual to understand reality? Is my brain poisoned by the academic ivory tower's harmful theoretical concepts, /prog/? How can I ever unlearn the toxic ability to think?

The Chinese communists don't value Chinese life, they gladly soaked the country in blood during the Anti-cultural revolution, and have adopted anti-reproduction policies that effectively stifle population growth. At the same time, they perpetrate the overpopulation myth to achieve several goals at once:

1) Larger population means larger army - everyone will believe that the People's Army is fucking huge.
2) Deterring immigration from shitskin countries - most negroes or Vietnamese don't want to go to a country which is already so overcrowded that the government has to forbid people to have children. At the same time, the high-quality immigrants like investors and scientists will not be deterred by that (they get paid enough not to care), and will actually be refreshingly surprised when they see China is not an overcrowded hellhole they believed it would be.
3) More weight in international affairs: UN and the rest have got to respect a country with supposedly 1.5 billion in population.
4) They can pretend their per-capita wages, waste emissions etc are smaller than they really are, thus making them seem more attractive as workforce and less environmentally-hostile.
