The difference is that people used to go on the Internet and talk to others like they would talk to other people in real life. Manners, etiquette and the need of contributing what they could. Now everyone is trying their hardest to follow some fabricated social guidelines and gain as much attention as possible.

Before some retard jumps out with the usual nostalgia goggles argument, you can't deny the old Internet denizens used to take it easy.
