I like the idea. I don't fully understand the script. It adds a lot of extra bytes, when ideally this can be implemented in this format:
4 bytes + n bytes of filepath

I don't want to get out of my way to write a minimalistic shell script just because everything is a file. That's bullshit. What about binary files? This performs awfully for lots of \n's in the file.

You're right, I forgot to add the \0 to signify the end of the filepath. I had thought of it, I just didn't type it out. Other than that, >>5 works just fine.
