I'm a proud strong Chinese quad serial to USB owner and don't need no FTDI drivers.

CDC is doing a terrible job at handling the spread of Ebola in the USA.

You should write a better driver for them.

The need to manually install vendor specific INF files to use generic USB devices is one of my least favorite things about Windows.

It's unusual that the only thing they supplied was the driver binary, so MS really needs to put out a generic class INF for CDC devices. (USB\Class_02&SubClass_02)

install systemd

Exactly. I'd much rather use Microsoft's generic drivers than the twice aborted crap device integrators usually provide. Nobody should ever have to install a device specific driver for a function USB-IF already took the trouble to define; it defeats the whole purpose of the standards.

I heartily recommend the use of FTDI chips! Best USB-serial chips!
