Political Agendas in Programming Communities

Name: Anonymous 2014-11-28 22:34

How come so many online programming communities are poisoned with feminist/SJW ideology? Take Github, for example. Pulling projects that they deem to be "sexist" or telling people they can't say "he" because that's not gender neutral. Then you have trannies on Gittip asking for money to "contribute" to Github when really they don't even know how to program and ask for money to continue to bitch about sexism in places where it's not even an issue.
Regardless of were you are on the political spectrum, politics don't belong in programming, one way or the other.
Programming should be about programming, not checking privileges and hating white people.

Well, the obvious purpose of this stunt was to open a discussion around the idea of making it illegal. I'm not a lawyer, but I believe you would have a very hard time proving rape in a case like that. But for a long time now, the fringe element of feminism has been pushing for laws that make any sex without explicit consent equivalent to rape if the "raped party," presumably the woman, says it is the case. In fact, a similar law is in place in (Sweden?), and is being used to prosecute Julian Assange. He isn't being accused of stalking and violently raping a stranger; he's accused of having sex with someone who essentially changed her mind (presumably at the behest of the CIA) after the fact. And by that standard he's fucked, which demonstrates pretty well what a bad idea such a law is.
