It's interesting to see how _ programmers looks like. Ruby is the rock-star.

The chris allen guy is bitemyapp, absolute irl retard. he is constantly picking fights with people and trying to prove and argue haskell is best. talking down, insultings, condescending.. he's like a joke caricature of a haskell faggot

Chris is a long time FP and Lisp user who discovered a love of learning and types when he found Haskell. Aside from releasing multiple Haskell project, such as Bloodhound and Blacktip he took to teaching Haskell to spread the love and creating the Learn Haskell guide which he is turning into a book.

Traitor.

Well, he does have a point. Most people really are too dumb for Haskell. Talking down to them is just well-deserved.

it's creepy how he and dibblego 'teach haskell' as a kind of shield from criticism.

<bitemyapp> augur: okay, I'll give you the short of it: if you try to use code compiled for an incompatible datatype representation, your program go boom-boom segfault
<bitemyapp> augur: boom-boom segfault ~ bottom for your purposes
<bitemyapp> augur: you don't want surprise-bottom boom-boom in your Haskell codey-codes right?

What's a dibblego?

#haskell op since forever, his 'gig' is writing digusting libs that fail at an attempt of shoehorning haskell in java, ruby whatever http://bbs.progrider.org/prog/read/1412795490

Scalaz doesn't shoehorn Haskell into Scala, it shoehorns abstraction and generics into Scala... which looks ugly because Scala is such a disgusting, misshapen try-all-fail-all piece of shit.

Tony Morris ‏@dibblego Feb 8
I think the criticism is that Go proactively ignores programming language research, for no benefit.

Andrew Gerrand ‏@enneff Feb 8
such criticism proactively ignores the real benefits that Go programmers enjoy.

Tony Morris ‏@dibblego Feb 8

We hear of these "real benefits", but unfortunately, there are never displayed.

Andrew Gerrand ‏@enneff

Lisp and Haskell aren't mutually exclusive languages, nigger. Both are functional languages exclusively used by academics who are into mental masturbation.

Bad trolling.

Name: Anonymous 2015-02-10 22:17

I love how completely pointless the Ruby tut is and of course it's written by a Rails dev.
Here you go kids, shit up our already horrible libraries with more awful crap.
If Rails was erased from history would Ruby still exist?

The Haskell one is surprisingly good. Don't know enough about Go to comment on quality but the concept is good.

How is that trolling? They're both academic pieces of shit. Watching you kids arguing over Lisp and Haskell is like watching two monkeys arguing over which type of shit is best to hurl at people and concluding cow shit is best suited for this purpose.

Consider using a real language like C.

lisp is as academic as fortran is.
You probably don't even know what fortran is.

LISP and Haskell are simple, widely used general-purpose languages. You have been misinformed. Examples of "academic pieces of shit" would be SML and charity.
