Textboards

Why haven't textboards evolved into this?
http://afternoon.dynu.com/
It's usable even without Javashit. The literal bulletin board is weird at first but shows exactly the same content you would see here (a short preview and the latest ~5 posts), perhaps in a more dense way. I think it's very kawaii, although a bit hipster/webappy.

Oh, that board is working again?

That's cool, I guess.

It looks like some /jp/sies NEET learned Perl and read up on the latest CSS3 trends, then started making posts to himself.

No thanks, I prefer nice Shiitchan Tablecat Tablecat+Admin-himechan.

progrider works without JS. The syntax highlighting uses prettify.js but thats it.

Honestly, I think that site is just the owner talking to himself.

They've got an issue with the layout.
There shouldn't be such huge vertical gaps between threads.

Why don't you do syntax highlighting in C?
This is how I do it on mine: https://github.com/str8c/nhttp/tree/master/examples/etc
It highlights ASM and C perfectly.

Maybe you could use Perl if that's your thing.
But JavaShit? Please, no.

I'd prefer something like tinychan.org, but it's too bad it has images for a ``BBS''.

Post Office admin here.

The board is based of the previous version of tablecat's BBS with some slight tweaks to make the styling easier. I actually don't post often, but I'm thankful for the people that do. I was working on a leaner version of the board based of the lastest iteration of tablecat's BBS but got sidetracked. I like the basic structure of the current lay-out, but there are a lot of design choices I would tackle differently now. I'd also like it to keep the choice to have pseud0ch as a style. I hope to return to the project in the future.

I'll keep that in mind when I decide to review the lay-out.

Working on new board software now. You can see a WIP here: http://textboard.dynu.com/
I'm interested in /prog/'s opinion on this style of frontpage.

This thread encouraged me to finally get started.

Hello! I didn't know you posted here. Your board is very cute. I wish it was more popular.

That said, I wish everyone stopped using Tablecat's software and wrote instead one that's not complete crap.

I get it now. You know posts like that break the rules and you don't like his shitty site. You're making more spam posts to get them banned, thus thwarting any of his future attempts at self-promotion.

Very clever. Please keep doing it.

Don't change these.
