What is the absolute best way to do pair programming over ssh where both of us can edit files at the same time with different cursors and also have splitting so we can edit two files at same time?

When I use an editor, I don't want eight extra KILOBYTES of worthless help screens and cursor positioning code! I just want an EDitor!! Not a “viitor”. Not a “emacsitor”. Those aren't even WORDS!!!! ED! ED! ED IS THE STANDARD!!!

I think Emacs has a mode for that. But I forgot what it is called. You can use Wemux, but that would give you the same cursor.
