I wrote a shit console client in FIOC. It works for me, though, and that's the idea. I was able to pull in sexpcode support via a wrapper on Xarn's library. That was pretty fun.

I also have a mostly-finished read-only HTML/JS interface. I got bogged down trying to figure out how to use Emscripten to get the aforementioned sexpcode library into the browser. Horrifying, but still lots of fun.

It's not like there's some complicated protocol that needs wrapping up, just pick/write a sexp parser and HTTP requests lib and go. I'd love to hack on some 3D BBS spaceship flying around threads shit if you/someone wants to suggest a good way of making that.

Personally I'd prefer a cross-platform language/environment, fuck compiling/coding shit specifically for Windows, that's not how I want to spend my free time.

Even knowing it will be an unpopular suggestion, I would use Panda3d <https://www.panda3d.org/> and, of course, FIOC. You can use Sepples with it too if you like pain. Either way, it has packaging so people don't have to deal with installing a bunch of horseshit. You can even auto-build a launcher that will download the proper runtime for the end-user's setup

It's agonizing, there is a whole ecosystem of libraries and shit just to get a fucking window onto the screen (in a cross-platform manner) so you can start doing API calls that actually draw things, and even THEN you still have to code around all the implementations. i hate it

But yes, okay. OpenGL ES + C + Scheme will probably be the MOST EXPERT setup.
